Win - Win• Not - they win, you lose

• Not - you win, they lose

• Not - compromise, each gets half

• But - collaborate for a win-win

• Know what you need

• Know what they want

• Do your homework – www.Salary.com (Google: Indeed <job title> salary <town>)

• Establish your value first – what you do best/they need most

• Negotiate interests, not positions

• Focus on WE, not just ME

When You Get Back to Them

• Express interest in the job and company

• Agree this is a fit both ways

• Repeat what they offered

• Ask if they can do any better on the salary

• Do NOT accept the job until everything has been negotiated
