At Selvavinayakar Kovil every third Sunday of the month Lalitha Sahastra Nama parayanam being recited with special Poojai to Godess Lalithambikai.

Chathurthi (Krishna Paksha) which comes after Full moon day called Sankatakara Chathurthi. At our temple Lord Ganesha's pooja performed in the evening. It is believed that the person who does Sankatakara Chathurthi poojai will get relieved from all their worries and troubles.
Ayyapa Swamy Karkataka Rasi Masa Abishekam on Saturday 23 July 2016
Special Puja/Abishekam will be performed to Sri Ayyappa Swamy on the first five days of the every Hindu calendar month. These poojas usually named after each Zodiac (Rasi) signs.
This month puja called “Karkataka” Masa Abishekam”.

Aadi Kiruthikai(Karthikai Star) is very auspicious day for Lord Murugan. Lord Murugan is the second child of Lord Shiva and Lord Parvathi As Lord Murugan was brought up by “Karthikai Virgins” he got the special name “Karthikeyan”. Devotees observe fasting on Adi Kiruthikai(Karthikai)day have the blessing of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva gave this boon to Karthikai Virgins according to “Skantha Puranam” Hindu Tamil literature.. Lord Murugan devotees celebrate this day with fasting and Pal Kudam (Milk Pot) with Kavadi prayer in most of the Murugan Temples around the world.

Adi Pooram is celebrated in all Hindu temples in southern India in the month called Adi or Ashadha, corresponding to the English months of July-August, when the asterism Pooram (Delta Leonis) is in the ascendancy. The festival is observed to propitiate the goddess Sakti Devi who is said to have come into this world on this occasion to bless the people. People therefore worship her in order to secure happiness not only for themselves but also for their loved ones.
Monthly Bajans and Religious talks on Friday 5 August 2016
Sri Selva Vinayakar (Ganesha) Temple encourages devotees to participate on monthly devotional bajans group. Bajans are held on the first Friday of each month with religious talk by special speakers after the evening Puja at 7.30pm. Please feel free to join the group and bring your instruments if you know to play at the bajans.
