Sketch Effect – Adobe Photoshop TutorialBeatriz Mariniello

In this tutorial we will show you how to create a sketch effect on Adobe Photoshop. TutorialIncludes project files.

First, open the image you want to "sketch"

Now duplicate the original photo/image layer

After that, hide the original one by clicking over the eye:

Select the Background Copy layer and then go to "Image/Adjustments/Desaturate"

This is how its going to look like:

Next, duplicate the (desaturated) layer.Select that layer

And then go to "Image/Adjustments/Invert"

This is how its going to look like:

Now, select that "inverted" layer, in the "Layers Palette", and from the "Blending Modes"drop down list, choose "Color Dodge"

Your image should be mostly white.Finally, have the "Color Dodge" layer selected and go to "Filter/Blur/Gaussian Blur"

A window with the 'Radius' integer will appear, choose the radius it works best. In this case Iselected 19,6:
