Launch of the Shoreline Sports Club

Mission Statement

▪ Help each child athlete succeed on and off the field

▪ Create a positive environment for learning

▪ Develop a cross training curriculum for healthy kids (and Parents!)

▪ Strong community spirit and involvement

▪ Increase self esteem and physical fitness

Through a well- managed Professional training program, help each child athlete succeed on and off the field in a positive environment increasing self- esteem and physical fitness.

Introductions

▪ Heron “Sheriff” Grey (Director of Coaching)– 30 years experience as player, coach and technical

director– Strong leadership and organizational experience– In depth tactician and master of technical and tactical

play– Developed players from all skill levels. Including World

Cup Players.

▪ Craig Tomlinson (Technical Director)– USSF National B License– 15 years of international playing experience– USL Sounders, Ohio State, Fresno State, Jamaica

Premier and National Team– Sounders Director of Youth Soccer Programs

Who is Shoreline Sports Club?

▪ Shoreline Sports Club was founded by Founded by Heron “Sheriff” Grey and Craig Tomlinson in 2015.

▪ SSC is a Washington State not-for-profit organization registered under US Club Soccer and the Puget Sound Premier League and under application for 501c3 status as a Non Profit organization.

▪ The Board of Directors was formed in May 2015. By-laws provide governance to the Board of Directors.

▪ The Board consists of 4 Directors. The Board is answerable to the club members and to the Association of Leagues (PSPL).

Club 2015 / 2016 Objectives

▪ Establish a club culture where players advance their skills in a positive environment increasing self-esteem and physical fitness

▪ Raise Funds of $145,000– Player sign-ups of 70-100

▪ Apply for 3-5 grants

▪ Develop a Communication Strategy for Players, Families and Community

▪ Create confidence with Players, Families and Community that SSC is a well-managed Club

Club Structure

▪ Commercial Director (Sheriff Grey) - increase revenue(s) from merchandise sales, advertising, sponsorship, hospitality, fundraising, retail and media to widen the scope of commercial activity at the Club level.

▪ Football (Soccer Director – Sheriff Grey): support the Management Team in bringing together and developing a playing squad that is best-placed to achieve the aspirations of the Club on the pitch.

▪ Coaching Director (Sheriff Grey) - the board, Technical Director and Team Managers will work closely with and support the Director of Coaching; sharing a similar soccer-oriented objective, training, soccer camps and also focusing on ensuring the success of game day administration and logistics.

▪ Technical Director (Craig Tomlinson) – Develop the training curriculum and technical development plan with assistance from all players and coaches.

▪ Community Director (Craig Tomlinson) - engage a greater diversity of the community and increase opportunities for input from community groups.

▪ Communication/ Marketing Director - increase awareness of the Shoreline Sports Club (SSC); locally, regionally and nationally.

▪ Director of Operations (Tara Lowe) - provides the support functions necessary for SSC to deliver its products and services in an efficient and cost effective manner.

▪ Director of Finance (Emil Anderson) - maintain a detailed financial business model which will create a framework for responsible and prudent financial management to enable the club to achieve its aims and objectives.

What to Expect in 2015 / 2016

Programs

Shoreline Sports Club is more then just soccer. We are a community service and sports organization that focuses on the development of the individual child.

Teams

Competitive teams will be associated with US Club Soccer participating in the Puget Sound Premier League.

Competitive Teams– Boys 00, 01, 02, 03, 04– Girls 00, 01, 02, 03, 04

Development Teams for Boys and Girls– Boys 05, 06– Girls 05, 06

Training Schedule

To be good at what we do, training is essential. Our training schedule has two practices each week as well as an optional weekly technical and tactics clinic.

Practices

▪ Monday and Wednesday 5:30 – 7:00 PM at Bitterlake Playfield

Technical and Tactical Clinic (Verrou)

▪ Fridays 5:00 – 6:30 at Bitterlake Playfield

Team Colors and Uniforms

▪ We will have team kits available soon for all registered players.

▪ Team colors will be Volare Blue (home colors) and Scarlet (away colors)

▪ Starting game kits will include Shorts, Shirt and Socks (home and away)

▪ Future kits will include backpacks and warm-ups Home Away

Program Fees, Registration and Scholarships

Fee Schedule & Payment Options

We offer many payment options:

▪ Pay in full at registration

▪ Full club payment plan (first payment of 400.00 at registration followed by 7 payments of 200.00 per month)

▪ Visa / MasterCard or Check

▪ Returned Checks will have a 35.00 bank processing fee

Scholarships

Community Service and giving back is one of the core values of our club.

▪ We will be providing limited full scholarships to low income families that meet the free Public School Lunch criteria.

▪ We will provide half off scholarships to qualifying families as funds are available and scholarships are approved

▪ Players that qualify for scholarships will be able to earn uniforms through community service hours or direct purchase.

You can register for all programs on the website. There is a step by step registration guide available on the bottom right corner:

Fundraising

We will form a fundraising committee that will focus on raising funds for scholarships, future programs and community outreach. Here are a few of our ideas:

▪ Coffee Fundraiser

▪ Wine Raffle

▪ Corporate Sponsorship

▪ Local Business Sponsorship

Community Service

Serving the community helps us grow as a team, organization and as individuals. Our service is what will set us apart from other clubs. Here are just a few ideas:

▪ Trash Pickup at Sports Fields

▪ After School Tutoring

▪ After School Fitness Programs

▪ National Day of Service (monthly)

▪ Giving out food and blankets to the homeless

▪ Equipment Collection for Underprivileged Youth
