NutrientKnowledgeHandout Next,handouttheNutrientKnowledgereproducibletoallstudents.Explainthatthischartisagoodwaytohelpstudentsrememberthesixmainnutrients,alongwithimportantvitaminsandminerals,andunderstandwhattheycandotohelpstudentslookandfeeltheirbest,andinwhatfoodgroupsthesenutrientscanbefound.Studentscanusethischartasareferencethroughoutthelesson. Discussthehandoutandhavestudentsunderlineorhighlightpartstheywanttoremember.3. SharetheNutritionKnowledge Havestudentscreateprojectsto“showwhattheyknow”andspreadthewordabouthoweatingfoodsfromallfivefoodgroupshelpsthemgetallthenutrientstheyneedtoplayhard,behealthy,andgrow.Dividestudentsintosmallgroups(3–4students).StudentsshouldusetheirNutrientKnowledgehandoutasaguide.Havethempickanaudience—theirparents,theirsiblings,orthestudentsinthelunchroom.Makeaposter,writeasongorrap,writeaskit,etc.tosharetheirinformationaboutnutrientswiththeiraudience.B. Presentasnackthathasatleast3ofthe5foodgroupsforstudentstohelpprepareand/ortaste.
