- awesome challenge from Pastor Mike Jarrett
- super time building friendships
- 2 students accepted Christ
- 12 students took a stand for Christ
From the desk of Mrs. Williams
The middle school enjoyed a great day of food, fellowship and activities. We started out
with breakfast, which everyone enjoyed by the look of the empty trays returned. We headed out-
side for our first round of activities next. The rain had stopped, so we were dry, which the adults
appreciated more than the students. They had free time for a while, with most trying the bungee
pull event. The 6th graders did not stand a chance against the older kids. Colton Branch was the
master at getting the marker to the end his lane. Many feet were in the air as the pull- back
flipped the students over. Mrs. Leonard did an admirable job against her 8th grade opponent. She
stayed on her feet. Volleyball was a fierce competition, with Alexis Olivier killing her opponents.
The blanket carrying was painful to the carriers and the students inside as well. Many were
dumped out on the grass as the carriers stumbled, or dropped the blankets. Lunch was enjoyed
by all, including the teachers! Ask Mrs. Herlocker for her cookie at your own peril. Mr. Brown
found that out! Chocolate chip cookies are not given away! Our message was very powerful.
About 15 students came forward, having prayed for salvation. Amazing. Our afternoon activities
were awesome. The Pictionary Relay showed how much talent our students have. Furious draw-
ing and guessing abounded! I think the students would say the highlight of the games was the Mu-
sical Spoons. No body part was spared injury in the battle for the plastic spoons. Ryan Jenkins
gave his all to get the last one, only to have Grant Heisey nudge his fingers closer, and grab the
spoon away. Great effort by all. Dinner was next, and again, clean plates abounded, even by those
who thought they were full from lunch. Chicken and mashed potatoes are a hit every time. Our
evening message was great, with powerful music bringing it home. Finally, the winning team was
announced. Mrs. Leonard had lost for the first time. The winning team was the Blueburgers, led
by Mrs. Alcala. There was much cheering from the Blueburger team at this announcement. Stu-
dents were picked up on time, and the tired staff dragged themselves to their cars and headed for
home.

Winter Haven Christian Agriscience Academy School Tax Id# 59-2715430
To our perspective sponsors,
I am contacting you on behalf of the Winter Haven Christian Agriscience Academy. We are
very proud to say that we have been blessed to bring agriculture to the students at Winter Haven
Christian for the first time since the school opened back in 1965. With that being said we are looking
for support from our community and friends. It can be in the form of a sponsorship or a donation to
the Agriscience department. .
The school year has gotten off to a wonderful start and the students are eager to get started on
some projects. A few projects we would like to get accomplished this school year are irrigation for
small animals, vegetable garden, fence for the garden and animal area, vegetable garden, a chicken
coop, rabbit hutch, and a tool shed. The students are going to be helping every step of the way with
each one of these projects and we are in need of some supplies. Every little bit helps so if you have
some tools like rakes, shovels, hoes, hammers, tape measures or
materials such as wire, feeders, waterers, fence post, or anything else that could be helpful to our
projects; please contact the school and let us know.
Our vision for the Agriscience program is to grow each year. We would love to have a green
house where the students could have starter plants, a livestock barn for a few large animals, wood
working tools, and the list just keeps going.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to whatever support you can
provide. Please contact Brandi Fountain, Agriscience teacher or Jeannette Williams email address
jwilliams@whcsonline.org, Academy director.
Sincerely,
Brandi Fountain

Dear Parents: As you probably know, our school is participating in the Tyson Project A+™ Program, a fund-raising program sponsored by Tyson Foods, Inc. By collecting labels from participating Tyson® products, we can raise up to $12,000 for our school this year! That money can go toward supplies, building improvements, school programs, or anything else we choose. And now there’s an extra incentive to participate! For each 100 labels submitted between 8/15/15 and 10/31/15, our school will receive 10 free Scholastic books. That’s in addition to the 24¢ in cash we already receive for each label. Just clip and collect Tyson Project A+ labels from Tyson products. Send the labels to school with your child. We’ll collect the labels and send them to Tyson Foods. The more labels we collect right now, the better our chance at earning bonus books and cash!
We are only 10 labels away from having the 100 labels to qualify for the
10 free Scholastic books!!! SEND IN THOSE LABELS!!!
SPECIAL TIMES FOR ART
Mrs. Handley will be making the art room available to students who do not have art

after school for the Middle School and High School students starting Sept. 28th thru

The Agriculture Academy received it first donation last week. Thank you to Stacie Keene for contacting Home Depot and getting them
to donate supplies to help us get started on our box vegetable gardens.
On Monday, September 21st, the WHCS FFA Officer team went to Lakeland High School to compete against other high school FFA
chapters in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies contest. The overall experience was very fun and informative. All of the people were
very friendly and welcoming. We cannot wait to be able to go to more competitions in the near future! Rachel Smith
