Reliance Jio: Revolutionising Indian Telecom by Tripti Ghosh Sharma, Arcot Ravi Praveen, Libin Joshua, and Ashish Tiwari
Reliance Jio Infocomm was launched with a business strategy to provide integrated access to information, entertainment, and commerce at high speed and low prices. Despite the competitive landscape and various other challenges, the company was optimistic about acquiring 100 million customers in 100 days. Using this case, participants will analyse the marketing strategy and evaluate whether the business model is sufficiently innovative to lead an industry-wide disruption.
Ahold versus Tesco: Analysing Performance by Suraj Srinivasan and Penelope Rossano
The case relates to understanding and comparing the performance of two leading retail companies, Ahold and Tesco, and introduces the Dupont and Modified Dupont Decomposition tools. Through this case, participants will analyse the performance using the Modified Dupont Decomposition techniques to assess if the firm's performance results from operating profitability or financial leverage and then suggest strategies to improve performance.
Mahindra and Mahindra Finance Services Limited: Empowering Rural
Customers in India by Rajeev Kumra
Catering to the rural poor across India, Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services Limited, a non-banking finance company, bridges the gap between moneylenders, who charge exorbitant interest, and public sector banks that require collat eral. In 2013, the manager of th e Bijnor branch was approached by the owner of a transport firm who requested a loan to buy two more trucks for business expansion. This case will enable participants to understand financial credit risk modelling and consumer behaviour to succeed in the rural Indian market.

Upon successful completion of the programme, with a minimum 75% attendance and satisfactory academic performance, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion and will be eligible to receive IIM Lucknow’s Executive Alumni Status (optional). Participants are expected to have 75% & above attendance. The cumulative overall percentage of marks should be 50% and above. Those participants who do not meet these criteria will receive a certificate of participation from IIM Lucknow. No certificate shall be awarded if the attendance is less than 40%.
