Here I Am . . . Ready or Not

Hello, 2015!

I knew you were coming, but you arrived before I was

ready. Can you go back out and give me a few days to

straighten some things up and then come back?

Time is relentless, isn’t it? It’s unyielding. There are times

in our life when we wish it would speed up—during

times of struggle or times of anticipation. Then there are

times we wish it would slow down or stop—during

times of joy or special times of happiness.

But time pays no heed to our wishes; it neither speeds

up nor slows down.

They say time heals all wounds—but it’s not true. In

time, the sharpness of the pain will subside, but some

pain never goes away. And some folks won’t let our

wounds heal . . . we keep picking at them—to keep

them raw.

Hello, 2015!

What will you bring? Happiness or pain? Joy or sorrow?

The truth is it will bring some of each. Each year does.

We have no choice about that. But we do have a choice

about how we react to each and which we will focus

on. And that makes all the difference in our life . . . both

now and eternally.

Welcome, 2015!

“ . . . I have learned to be content

whatever the circumstances.” -Paul

-Ken Stegall
