Abstract
SAP Enterprise Project Connection 2.0 broadens the coverage ofsupported 3rd-party project management and scheduling application withthe introduction of Microsoft Project Server(2007 and 2010). The use ofMicrosoft Project is ubiquitous throughout SAP's install base with themajority using manual, internally developed or other tools to synchronizethe data which are prone to error and time consuming. SAP EnterpriseProject Connection’s unique Information-Powered Project integrationapproach can help your organization rapidly introduce a seamless, end-to-end project management business process with minimal disruption to yourexisting processes. Regardless of your project management maturity levelor the type of projects your business manages Capital, Service, orIT/Internal the flexible SOA architecture, data modeling capabilities, anditerative approach to designing a solution embedded within the SAPEnterprise Project Connection framework allows you to realize true bi-directional integration.

Learning Points
Learn how to improve project management maturity using SAPEnterprise Project Connection 2.0, regardless of the types ofprojects your organization manages or the current PPM maturitylevel of your organization. Why information-powered project integration is about designing anend-to-end process not just mapping data across applicationdatabases and how EPC can quickly enable these processes to beoptimized. How EPC addresses the concept and role of project managementintegration – the applications, technologies, architecture and models.See a demonstration of an End-To-End ‘Distributed’ EPPM BusinessProcess using SAP Enterprise Project Connection to align andsynchronize SAP PPM, SAP Project System and Microsoft ProjectServer.

Key LearningsIrrespective of the business or industry where your company competes, the use of‘Projects’ and the need to organize, manage and execute them effectively areexplicitly tied to your company’s strategic and business objectives.Determining your organizations current Project Management Maturity Level is thefirst step towards developing a plan to incrementally improve your EPPM level.‘Integration’ of the primary dimensions in EPPM (People, Processes and Systems) is aprerequisite to elevating your maturity and by incorporating the ‘Information-Powered Project Integration’ approach available with SAP EPC, you can mostefficiently and cost-effectively improve your PPM practice.Information Powered Integration is an approach to integration that decouples thetools, resources and data involved in your current project management businessprocess and aligns them in a manner that enables the execution of more successfulprojects – providing timely, accurate and intelligent information to the right systems, the right people and at the right time within your PPM Ecosystem, thus leading to theRight Decisions. The End-To-End ‘Distributed’ EPPM Business Process using SAP Enterprise ProjectConnection to align and synchronize SAP PPM, SAP Project System and MicrosoftProject Server provides a sample ‘Use Case’ for adopting EPC but also illustrates theflexibility inherent in SAP EPC’s Information Model, Architecture and Infrastructure.
Real Experience. Real Advantage.
