Mental health experts say that after disaster, war and violence many children -

• Lose faith in the future• Feel life is out of control• Lack trust in adults• Break relationships• Become confused• Lack empathy for others• Lose self-confidence - Refer to Bruce Perry, MD, PhD, Child Trauma Academy

This program helps children heal through play -

12 Day program served

– 29 children– 4 hours a day– 5 days a week

There were good results with the short program.

But a longer programwould result in even greater

results - -

Playing together or playing alone -

Helping each other develops cooperation and caring

Board and matching games give opportunities for children to control

some of their lives

Puzzles help children organize their thoughts

So many ways to use art for healing

Stories help children imagine their future

With blocks children can create, destroy, and then build again

Relationships - a very important key to healing

This is how you do it…….
