Sacrament of Penance Saturday, 3:30 p.m.; Sunday, 7:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. or by appointment
Parish Membership Membership in the parish consists of two parts: Registration: Registering in a parish is a declaration of your desire to
be part of a Catholic Community and a commitment to the life of the parish family. We are often asked to provide affidavits for parishioners’ standings. We can only do this is if a person is a registered, active and contributing member in our parish. You can register by either meeting with the Pastor after Mass or by appointment.
Participation: As a member of the Parish, you are accepting the responsibility of weekly worship as well as supporting God’s work here through giving of yourself, your time and talents, and a worthy Sunday offering to show your love for God and your gratitude for His many favors and blessings.
Bulletin Deadline: Please have bulletin announcements at the Parish Office by 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.

REQUIESCAT IN PACE! In the charity of your prayers, please remember Rita Myers, who died March 20. Rita was the mother, mother-in-law of parishioners Michael and Robin Myers.
SUPPORT THE CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES COLLECTION: Thank you for your generous support of The Catholic Relief Services Collection and for helping Jesus In Disguise. Your contributions will make a difference for the poor and marginalized around the world. If you missed the collection, it’s not too late to give! Just visit www.usccb.org/nationalcollections, and click on the “How to Give” link at the left.
ENCOUNTER RESILIENCE: We encounter Dita in Ethiopia, and see how her newfound entrepreneurial skills are providing three meals a day for her children even during a devastating drought. What skills have you discovered this Lent that can be put to good use in building God’s kingdom? Visit crsricebowl.org for more.
RICE BOWL CHALLENGE: “The Word of God helps us to open our eyes to welcome and love life, especially when it is weak and vulnerable. But in order to do this, we have to take seriously what the Gospel tells us about the rich man.” (Pope Francis 2017) CRS Rice Bowl helps us encounter new people, places, and experiences with open eyes and open hearts. The CRS Rice Bowl calendar (available at www.crsricebowl.org) provides stories and recipes of individuals, families, and communities from faraway countries. Visit www.cricebowl.org or contact the CRS diocesan director at 614-241-2540 or ecordle@columbuscatholic.org for additional information.
MONDAYS OF MARCH, MASS, SIMPLE SUPPER AND LENTEN REFLECTIONS: Last Monday’s Simple Supper hosted by Father Metzger and Parish Staff netted $243.00 for the Rice Bowl. A special Thank You to Dino Carfagna of Carfagna’s Market for donating “Carfagna’s Presto Pleaser’s traditional wedding
soup with tiny meatballs.” “Thank you to Father Metzger and Parish Staff and all who attended!”
MEATLESS PASTA DINNER: This Friday is the final K of C Meatless Pasta Dinner for this year! This week we are running a canned food drive as a promotion. Each person who donates two (2) cans of food will receive a $1.00 discount off their meal! Donate five (5) cans of food to receive a $2.00 discount! Come out on Friday from 4:30-7:00 p.m. and support a great cause and indulge on delicious pasta and spaghetti sauce from Ann & Tony’s!
“TINY SAINTS” SALE: The Youth Group will once again be selling “Tiny Saints” this weekend. This is the final weekend of the sale! They would be great items for Easter baskets. Please consider supporting our Youth Group and our trip to the National Catholic Youth Conference by purchasing “Tiny Saints” or making a donation. All products (charms, bracelets, and rosaries) are only $5.00! Thank you in advance for supporting our high schoolers!
LENTEN CHALLENGE: “Listen to Catholic Radio AM 820 this Lent.” Consider listening to Catholic Radio AM 820 as part of your Lenten discipline. It might lead you to a deeper knowledge and love of God.” Look for the program listing in the Gathering Space.
EASTER FLOWERS: There is a Special Collection for Easter Flowers this Sunday, April 2. There is an envelope in your monthly mailing or envelopes are available in the Gathering Space. Please give in memory or in honor of the special people in your life.
ARE YOU WILLING TO ADOPT A SEMINARIAN??? For the past several years, our parish has provided baked goods to send to the seminarians after Easter. This year we would like to make our outreach a little more personal by choosing an individual name and developing a short-term or long-term communication relationship with one of our 29 Columbus Seminarians. We are looking for 29 conscientious “Mothers and Fathers” to “Adopt a Seminarian.” Requirements include:• Praying for your “Adopted Seminarian” each day – a lot or a little,
just pray!• Write a personal card/letter with words of encouragement, appreciation
and support. They work long and hard to answer God’s call to become our future priests. Let’s help them on their journey.
• Include a “Sweet Treat” or other small gift to accompany your card/letter on delivery day.
To join us in this effort and for more detailed information, please contact Barb Heiman at 614-879-9069 or 614-309-8009. Delivery will be on or about April 24. Thank you for your efforts. Continue to pray daily for our Seminarians.
The Good Samaritan Food Pantry collection item for April will be personal hygiene items like shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes, or bath soap. What is the one thing you could not do without each day? That is what you should donate to the needy!
THE WOMEN’S GUILD will meet this Sunday, April 2, at 9:00 a.m. in the Parish Library. Join us as we continue to discuss our upcoming projects. All women of the Parish are invited to attend!
SAVE THE DATE: The American Red Cross will conduct a Blood Drive this Tuesday, April 4, 2017, from 1:00-7:00 p.m., in the Social Hall. Please give the gift of life! The need is great! Walk-ins are welcome, but those with appointments are taken first. To schedule an appointment,
go to http://www.redcrossblood.org. Sponsor Code: StSimon or contact Kay Beattie at 614-619-2108.
TRAVEL CENTERS OF AMERICA (TA) RESTAURANT: Located 940 U.S. 42 (1-70 & U.S. 42), London, is offering 20% value of your check to Sts. Simon & Jude, or 10% to you and 10% to Sts. Simon & Jude, or 20% to you. All you have to do is write the name of our church on the receipt. This is for breakfast, lunch or dinner any day of the week.
THE PONTIFICAL GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION: Pope Francis has asked our parish to support the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, which helps Christians in the Holy Land. Your support helps the church minister in parishes, provide Catholic schools and offer religious education. The Pontifical Good Friday Collection also helps to preserve the sacred shrines. The wars, unrest and instability have been especially hard on Christians. In these times of crisis, the Pontifical Good Friday Collection provides humanitarian aid to refugees. When you contribute to the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, you become an instrument of peace and join with Catholics around the world in solidarity with the Church in the Holy Land. Please be generous!
