Christmas Pageant Sign-up On Christmas Eve, the 5:00 Eucharist service will include a Christmas Pageant presented by the children of our church. All children ages 3 and older are invited to participate. Please fill out the permission slip below and return it to the church office no later than Wednesday, December 9 if your child would like to participate. The children will not have speaking parts in the pageant, which will be a traditional nativity story. We will assign roles and fit costumes on Wednesday, December 9 between the hours of 3:00 pm and 6:00 p.m. in the Sunday School wing. The church has a variety of costumes available, and we should have everything your child will need. Simple alterations may be needed to adjust for length, etc.
There will be two rehearsals for the Christmas Eve Pageant. The first practice will be on Wednesday, December 16 at 6:15p.m in the church. The final practice and dress rehearsal will be on Saturday, December 19 at 10:30 a.m, followed by lunch and the “Happy Birthday Jesus” party in the Parish Hall. It is very important that all pageant participants attend these rehearsals with a parent or grandparent. It is really helpful for the adult who attends rehearsal with the child to reinforce at home the child’s role and duties – also immediately before the pageant. Pageant participants should arrive no later than 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 24.
We will need several parents who can help direct the groups of children (angels, shepherds, animals, etc.) during rehearsals and during the pageant. If you are willing to be one of these back-stage parents, please indicate below.
There will be a brief Epiphany Pageant at the beginning of the 10:30 service on January 10. This pageant is in the form of a procession down the center aisle during the hymn “We Three Kings”. Three children will be needed for these roles. They should be at least 6 years old and not hesitant to process down the aisle alone. Please indicate on the permission slip if your child would like to participate. Rehearsal for the Epiphany pageant will be at 10:00 a.m. on January 10.
