Dear St. Ambrose family, Alleluia! He is Risen! With the events of Covid-19 it doesn’t seem like a joyful time to celebrate Easter. We have truly had a difficult and dark Lenten Season. But we will get through this dark night. Already we can begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel, even if that light is faint right now. We must keep our eyes fixed on “The Light,” Jesus Christ, or we risk the danger of the darkness overcoming us (cf. Jn. 1:5). Christ is risen and he is with us! This is what we must remind ourselves every day. We need to cry out to Him daily: Jesus I trust in you! I know it’s difficult right now to keep the hope alive in our hearts, but “with God all things are possible.” (Mt. 19:26) In our daily prayers, let us keep the hope and victory of Christ’s Resurrection alive in our souls. Mediation on his victory and reading the Scriptures that talk about the Resurrection will give us the hopeful perseverance we need. (See Matthew 28; Mark, 24; Luke 24; and John 20 & 21) May you experience the Risen Christ in your soul this Easter Season. May you know of the great power and strength that comes from Jesus’ Resurrection victory. Yours in the Risen Lord Jesus, Fr. Steven
Divine Mercy Sunday, April 19th: We will have a different plan on Divine Mercy Sunday this year. There will be Eucharistic Adoration in the church from 9am to 2:45pm. At 2:45pm there will be Benediction and closing of Adoration (with only 10 persons in the church for Benediction—others please wait outside). At 3pm we will meet outside in the Garden to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet together. Not only will we keep the “Social Distancing” of 6 feet apart, but everyone is asked to wear a protective mask over your face. Please space yourself throughout the Garden. Fr. Steven will lead the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Praises of Divine Mercy. Our primary prayer intention for Divine Mercy Sunday will be for the end of Covid-19, healing for those who have the virus and for the repose of the souls who have died. Please join us as we invoke the Mercy of Jesus!
Annual Easter Egg Hunt: Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be "postponed" until a later date. Hopefully this will happen during the Easter Season. We will inform you of the postponement date.
Thank You to Nancy Dupont and Pat Alexander Thank you so much Nancy Dupont, and Pat Alexander for putting together Palm Sunday Gift Bags. We are so thankful for all your hard work this past weekend!
Easter Sunday, April 12th at 10am: Since we cannot gather together in the church for the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we will have a procession with the Most Holy Eucharist on Easter Sunday at 10am. Please arrive to the church around 9:40am and follow the directions of the parking attendants. You are asked to park on both sides on the grass, facing your car toward the road. Park from the Schoolhouse all the way to the Cemetery. Again, park so that your car is FACING THE ROAD. Please park about 4-5 feet apart and not leave large gaps between cars so that we can fit all of the cars in. Please stay in your cars with your family and pray the Holy Rosary. Again, PLEASE STAY IN YOUR CARS! At 10am Fr. Steven will be processing with the Most Holy Eucharist in the Blessed Sacrament in front of your cars. While he passes by, please pray the prayers to honor the Blessed Sacrament which we will provide for you. Please bless yourself by making the sign of the Cross and make a spiritual communion by uniting your heart and soul to the Most Blessed Sacrament. Let us join together as a St. Ambrose spiritual family and participate in this celebration of the victory of Our Lord Jesus on Easter Sunday! This information will also be emailed to you. God bless you.
SPECIAL NOTES: 1. As you enter the St. Ambrose campus there will be a welcome station. A Welcome Minister will hand you an Easter gift of the book “Rediscover the Saints.” 2. If you choose, you may give an “Easter offering” in the collection basket at the welcome station. As always, thank you for your generous financial support of our parish.
Good Friday, April 10th: Please come and pray
the Stations of the Cross on your own (at any time) in the church garden at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Also, the Divine Mercy Novena starts on Good Friday. Please pray the Divine Mercy Novena and Chaplet on your own, in preparation for Divine Mercy Sunday, April 19th.
Online Giving – through ParishSOFT Giving, our church is
now able to receive online donations. Just visit our website at www.saintambrose-church.org and click on the online giving link, or go to MyParishApp and click on the Giving icon. This is a convenient and safe way to make a one-time or recurring donation with either your debit or credit card. May we ask that if you choose to make your entire monthly donation with your credit card that you make a one-time total entry for the month instead of weekly entries. This will appear on your credit card as one amount for the month and the church will pay for 1 transaction instead of 4 or 5 weekly transactions. Of course, if you choose to use your debit card, please do whatever works best for you. This is a great way to contribute to St. Ambrose Parish, especially during this time of challenge with the coronavirus. Thank you for your generosity
Beware of SCAMS!!: Be particularly vigilant and protective
during COVID-19 with scammers! The Parish, Father and others would never email or call you for money or personal information.
