Trans-­‐NIH  Ac-on  Plan  2007  

•  Goal: Reduce the morbidity and mortality of those on waiting lists through research to increase organ availability and develop technologies that improve and prolong the function of failing organs.

•  Advance promising product leads for organ-assist and replacement technologies via SBIR/STTR program.

•  Programs to educate and encourage organ donation.

•  Investigate tissue engineering as a means to repair, and maintain organ function.
