Becauseofnewandmorepowerfulaircraftsthestrengthandfrangibilityofthesignhasbecomemoreimportantthanever.Itisachallengetodesignasign-conceptthatisstrongenoughtowithstandawindloadof483kphandisfrangiblewhenanobjectcollideswiththesign.Twocharacteristicsthatarecontradictoryanddemandarigorousapproach.
ThedesignhasbeensubjecttothoroughFEManalysisforthehighestload:mode3,windload483kph.TestedandcertifiedaccordingEASA/ICAOregulations.Andmoreover:thesignhassuccessfullyproveditsstrengthatseveralleadingairports.
