Summary
On June 16th, 1982 two reverse circulation overburden drill holes totalling 127 feet were completed. Grey lacustrine clays weathered brown within ten feet of surface predominate most of the pleistocene section. These clays overlie a relat ively thinner unconsolidated clastic sedimentary unit which overlies bedrock. The clastic unit consists of basal sands, gravels and tills. One of the holes encountered basal sand and gravel while the other intersected basal sand, gravel and till.
Location and Access
The Cook property consists of twenty-six mining claims compris ing three separate groups. The group of claims for which this work is being filed is located in Bowman Township, Lots 8 and 9, Concession III and IV, and consists of the following claim numbers:
L545367 to L545369 inclusiveL545339L545342L545382L554705 and L554706L532706 and L532707
The claim group is accessible via a gravel road which runs south along the Lot 6 - Lot 7 boundary line from the intersection at Highway # 101, one mile west of the town of Matheson. The gravel road turns to the west along the Concession III - Concession IV boundary line and enters the claim group *s mile from the turn.
Previous Work
Asarco Exploration Company of Canada Limited and the Tillex Syndicate have been active in the general area since 1973. Several overburden holes were drilled on the claim group as well as one diamond drill hole completed in 1981 to a total depth of 492 feet. Ground geophysics including horizontal loop E.M. and magnetometer surveys have been conducted over the claim group.
- 2 -
Overburden Drill Program
Drilling was carried out by Bradley Brothers Limited using a Longyear 1-38 drill modified for a dual-tube reverse circul ation drilling. The drill is mounted on an eighteen ton diesel FN 160 Flextrack Nodwell, and has a hydraulic derrick capable of handling twenty feet of rods.
A continuous return enables a continuous monitoring and logging of unconsolidated overburden. Bedrock cuttings were also collected for approximately the first five feet. Where till or basal material was identified or suspected approximately 10 - 15 pounds of -10 mesh material was collected for analysis of heavy mineral concentrates. Some -HO mesh material was added to assist in studies of till composition.
The two overburden drill holes were located in such a manner as to confirm the results of previous drilling and to trace anomaly trains up-ice from the holes initially drilled. In general this was a northerly trend.
Pleistocene Geology
Most of the area of Bowman Township including the claim group is underlain by Barlow-0jibway lacustrine clay deposits which in a few localities may grade upward and laterally into coarse sand and gravel outwash which may be proximal to a former shoreline. The deposits are underlain by glacial tills and basal sands and gravels.
The grey lacustrine clay occupies a greater part of the pleistocene section.
Hole # RG-l intersected fifty-seven feet of grey clay weathered brown within five feet of surface. Underlying this unit from fifty-seven to sixty-five feet was basal sand and gravel contain ing approximately 50 - 70% sand.
Hole # RC-2 intersected forty-nine feet of grey clay weathered brown within eleven feet of surface. Underlying this unit from forty-nine to fifty-three feet was a basal sand, gravel and till unit.
In both instances the clastic basal units were anomalous in Au values in the heavy mineral concentrates.
b*Bedrock Geology
Only limited geology is known in Bowman Township over the claim group since no outcrops occur. A best attempt was made to identify bedrock geology from approximately five feet of bedrock chips in the return.
Hole l RC-1 intersected a chloritized basic volcanic probably an altered basalt with less than J.% disseminated pyrite.
Hole # RC-2 intersected a dark green chloritized basic volcanic with less than ^ disseminated pyrite, l - 2% disseminated magnetite, and several small altered syenite dykes and fractures with up to 31 pyrite.
Conclusions
The immediate subsurface pleistocene cover consists of grey clay from glacial lake Barlow-Ojibway. A basal sand, gravel and till unit underlying this provides a good sample medium where it is till, since sand and gravel transport is larger, more erratic and much more difficult to outline a source. However, both basal clastic units in the two holes drilled were anomalous in Au values.
Respectfully submitted,
Alex S. Horvath

Report On Overburden Drilling Bowman Township/ Ontario -
Dear Sir:
Please find enclosed duplicate copies of a report on overburden drilling carried out during June 1982 by Asarco Exploration in Bowman Township.
This report includes a descriptive text and logs covering two holes on the Cook Project. We are reporting two holes for a total expenditure of $2,883.65 or 192 days credit ^IS/day). We wish to distribute this credit evenly over ten contiguous claims for a total of 19 days credit per claim. These particular claims have 22.5 days credit applied under previous submittals in expenditure credits. Included in the report is a cost break down with copies of expenses incurred, drill logs and a drill hole location map.
The Mining Act Report of Work has been previously submitted to the Mining Recorder, Larder Lake Mining Division.

Dear Sir:
Overburden DrillingCarr and Bowman Townships
Please find enclosed two separate Mining Act Report of Work forms upon which we are reporting two overburden drilling programmes completed in June 1982.
In Carr Township we are reporting five overburden holes (Carr-Destor Project) for a total expenditure of $7,035.65 or 469 days credit. We wish to distribute this credit evenly over twelve contiguous claims (595463-474 inclusive) for a total of 36 days credit per claim. With this application we fulfill the maximum allowable credit of 60 days per claim under "expenditures" as we have -previously submitted 24 days credit (expenditures) on each claim. Our records now indicate that these claims will remain in good standing until December 8, 1983.
In Bowman Township we are reporting two overburden holes (Cook Project) for a total expenditure of $2,883.65 or 192 days credit ^IS/day). We wish to distribute this credit evenly over ten contiguous claims (see Attachment 1) for a total of 19 days credit per claim. We have previously applied 22.5 days credit under "expenditures" on this claim group. Our records now indicate that these claims will remain in good standing until January 7, 1984 (8 claims) and February 6, 1984 (2 claims).
