a star that’s free of pain

Held gently in God’s Loving Arms

Amber continues to live through others because of her decision

to be an ORGAN DONOR.

To date, 5 people have received her gifts.

Her right kidney was transplanted into a 54 year old man

from Kentucky suffering from kidney disease. He had been on

the transplant waiting list since November 2006 and has been

on dialysis since January 2006. Dialysis is a process that

individuals undergo three times a week for three to four hours

at a time to remove toxins from the bloodstream when the

kidneys are no longer able to function. It is a process that

cannot be missed, meaning that these individuals do not have

the freedom to travel or participate in activities that many

people take for granted. With this transplant, he can look

forward to a life free from this exhausting procedure.

The transplant was a success.

Her left kidney was transplanted into a 40 year old women

from Kentucky suffering from diabetes. She had been on the

transplant waiting list since 2006 and has been on dialysis

since 1998.

The transplant was a success.

Her liver was transplanted into a 51 year old man from

Kentucky suffering from liver disease. He had been on the

transplant waiting list since July 2008.

The transplant was a success.

Two recipients have been given the gift of sight by each of

Amber’s corneas.

One from Iowa and one from California.

The donation of her bone tissue will be formed into various

grafts which will be used to treat a variety of orthopedic

problems. Typical uses of donated bone include spinal surgery,

hip surgery, treatment of severe injuries and repair of tendons

and ligaments.

Bone tissue can be stored for later use.

The following is to honor Amber’s

life and ultimately her gifts.
