This project studies the move-ment of people and how people use small space, how the sun ef-fects a space, and how the noise effects a space and the con-joining spaes. We were given a certain square footage and had to design an apartment. This apartment had to be able to be repeated next to each other.

The apartment complex is a continuation from the housing study. We were in groups for this project with one person design-ing one part of the site. We had to relate both sites to each other but design our own layout for the units.

This project was a group project that I worked on with two more of my classmates. The purpose of this was to rede-sign a part of the city that was given to us to better incorportate Howard University and the surrounding area and integrate with each other. We redesigned this area by directing a pedestrian path that can be seen when driving up Vermont Avenue and connects with Howard Univesity.

The dance studio is a continua-tion of the urban design project. We took a place on the site and had to design an iconic dance studio. In this project I took the main plaza area that connected Howard University with the rest of the site. The exterior mesh is important because it relates to the idea of free form and dance.

MAIN CONCEPTThe pod design was the concept

for my design. I wanted to have the

people be able to experience but-

terflies in a setting without getting

them on themselves. I also wanted

the pods to be able to be suspended

and look natural in their enviro-

ment. Each of these pods will act

as an information center so after a

person goes through one they come

out knowledgeable about butter-

flies

The butterfly garden is located on the end of Rosslyn near the Key Bridge. This is a high traf-fic site with many pedestrians that go over the bridge to get into DC. This design had to be an iconic research center for insects.

6GOURMET TOO

This project I had worked on and designed with a group of people at the firm I am employed at, Architectural Design Studio. This restaurant is located in L'Enfant Plaza in the new wing that was renovated. I picked out materials, design and put together the construc-tion documents. I did the sketchup model and ren-dering of the restaurant.
