Project History• Community Needs Assessment

– Needs assessment survey conducted in 2001 identified need for a “multi-generational center” 

– Market Study conducted in 2003 indicated YMCA membership sustainability 

– Campaign Feasibility Study interviews in 2004 revealed strong potential financial support

• Project Components– YMCA facility & programs - recreational pool, gymnasium,

teen center, handball, fitness center, activity rooms – Community Center – meeting space, adult activities,

Scottsdale Healthcare programs, Foothills Caring Corp, DVEA

– PV Community College classrooms

– To set a goal to allow us to assess our progress next year

• February – Review PVCC community survey– Develop academic and continuing education

programs and schedule

• June – Distribute course schedule – Begin registration

• July – Complete construction and move in
