EFFECTIVE DATE: October 31 – November 5, 2017

CHAPTER: Fort Defiance Arizona and Navajo New Mexico.

NAME OF PROJECT: Black Creek Wash Pile Burn.

LOCATION OF PROJECT: The project is located 7 miles North of Fort Defiance,Arizona, and 5 miles South of Navajo New Mexico.

PLANNED NUMBER OF ACRES TO BE BURNED: 05 to 10 Acres per day.

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT: Eliminate Hazardous Fuel Loads and reduce thepotential for catastrophic wildfires caused by Salt Cedar and Russian Olivewithin the Black Creek Wash for the protection of life and property and toreduce the negative effects to natural and cultural resources.

EXPECTED SMOKE VISIBILITY AND DIRECTION: Smoke is expected to rise2700-7400 feet above ground level and disperse to the Northeast. Some nighttime residual smoke may be expected. Mitigation measures utilized willinclude :

• Burning manageable acreages.

• Ceasing burn ignitions no later than 1300 HRS (1:00 PM).
