Analysis of P-Task

The aim of our P-task was to use a number of camera shots to show our skills whilst using the camera. For example we used a POV shot which shows the audience that they are Bayzid Hussain, they are in his shoes.

We also used an extreme close up of Mashud Ahmed Texting Bayzid "Where are you?" this creates a effect of the use of Enigma Code. Because due to lighting we are fortunate that it creates an effect on our character, you can't tell who the person texting is and why he's waiting for Bayzid.

The Image below show that we as a group met our aim of using a master shot, which also establishes our setting in this scene. This also helped us meet our next target of showing someone walk through a door.

This next shot shows Mashud Replying to Bayzid and the camera is looking at mashud from Bayzids point of view

These shots are examples of the usage of shot reverse shot.

Whilst filming I’ve learnt how effective different types of shots such as tracking, POV, shot reverse shot are when making a film. It takes time but after editing it makes the film seem much more active, keeping audience interested throughout. I’ve also learnt how natural lighting can be fortunate during filming but sometimes the lighting can affect how characters are exposed.

After filming and during editing, we realised how our sound levels were uneven. So we used final cut pro to help us even out our sounds so we don’t a disruption of sound moving up and down. We managed to keep the sound on 18 decibels which we thought was the unique level for our sound to be at.

During filming, we thought our framing was well, there was about 2 scenes where our characters head was cut off a bit. We realised it wasn’t a big mistake so we left it as it was. Other than that our framing was good. Lighting wasn’t an issue because the natural light helped us create an effect of shadow on Mashud Ahmed.

The actors in the film are also part of my group, they contributed to planning the whole task, setting, editing. They were the right actors because they were students at Haverstock School (Location) they represented teenagers, socialising within school. Since they are teenagers themselves aged (17) they understood how they should act as a teenager (modern) e.g. language, character movements and costume.

The setting was the right location because it was quite and we was not disrupted by anyone walking though, it was also a simple setting where we could complete our task successfully.

During editing, I definitely increased my knowledge in Technology, I never knew how to use Final Cut Pro, and after completing this task, I’ve learnt a lot about the software and how it can be used to make the film look more attractive to the audience. Final cut pro helped me learn about cropping frames, colour correcting, controlling sound levels, length of a cut. Also Learnt hoe to sub-clip scenes, picking out key scenes.
