Community Reviews for this SchoolPosted: 4/2/2020 by Niche UserI was born and raised in the halls of SHS, and as I became an attending student there I fell even deeper in love. The only thing I would change is the number ofclass periods we are offered. I truly believe that it would be a huge benefit to the students of Seguin High School.

Answers to more complex higher education questions, i.e. financial aid, college selection, courses to takecan be hard to receive. I spent most of my high school career getting the answers for myself and setting my own schedule to meet my demand for rigorouslearning.

Posted: 1/2/2020 by JuniorI enjoy the diversity in culture and students there, I like the lack of high school cliques, and the overall lack of racism I've been exposed to. However there are anoverwhelming number of fights within the school. The administration can be biased at times, but the academic dean does her job well. The school building isnice, new, and kept well, there isn't much if any vandalism done by students. The library and librarians provide students with nice opportunities, such as eatinglunch in the library, having a say in what books are purchased throughout the year, and becoming a library aide. The counselors are more helpful than myprevious high school, particularly Mrs. Connie Dansbach, who has helped me tremendously during my time there. The teachers are either hit or miss, I've foundthe teachers of advanced classes Pre-AP, AP, Dual Credit particularly excellent at their job, and a good portion of the teachers for regular classes to be averageor poor.
Posted: 10/19/2019 by SeniorI like the teachers at Seguin High School. They find unique ways to keep kids interested in learning and actually participating. The staff is great, they have timeto talk to people one-on-one and help kids with finding their college. Our school is currently holding a FAFSA workshop where parents and students are able tocome after school and fill out the FAFSA form. Even the school spirit is amazing! Everyone gets so involved in theme days and we all support each other.Teachers are easy to get along with, they are flexible with their tutoring hours and actually help out.
Posted: 6/14/2019 by AlumSeguin is a large school with a small town feel. The environment is very nice and the staff is good. Like any other school, there's going to be good teachers andbad teachers but overall the teachers are helpful. One thing I really enjoyed about Seguin High School was the diversity, Seguin, TX is a pretty diverse town andthe high school is a direct reflection of that. I liked the diversity because it gave me the chance to meet people of different cultures and interact with them. Somethings I would like to see improved our the resources and the activities/clubs. I think that the education would improve if we had more books and technology tohelp the students fully comprehend the lesson. Better education would also improve the student's readiness for college or trade school. If Seguin High had moreclubs for the students to join, I think the whole vibe of the school would shift in a more positive direction. They need more organizations so that everyone can getinvolved.
