Invitation
Dear colleagues:
During the last 15 years, the Department for Trauma Surgeryof the University of Regensburg has organized an annual AOsymposium on varying topics in Regensburg with increasingcontributions of our Czech colleagues in the recent years. Thisand the re-organization of AO Trauma in Europe with emphasisof the collaboration within the European region gave rise tothe idea of a regional cross-border symposium. The name"Bohemian-Bavarian or Bavarian-Bohemian AO Symposium"was chosen in order to highlight the regional character of themeeting. It will be arranged alternating in Pilsen and Regensburgand will be on varying up-to-date topics.
The topic of the first Bohemian-Bavarian AO Symposium willbe "Fractures of the Pelvis and Acetabulum" and the focus willbe on complex injuries. The surgical treatment of such injuriesrequires the determination of an individual therapy regimenbased on the radiological and clinical findings and proficiencyin a wide array of challenging surgical procedures. We couldattain experts in the field from both sides of the Bavarian-Bohemian border to deliver insight into modern principles ofdecision making and treatment. Current treatment options forspecific injuries will be presented and their practical implemen-tation will be demonstrated by clinical case discussions.
We are looking forward to meeting you in Pilsen to thepremiere of this new international symposium and to animatedscientific discussions.
