“We are strong advocates of technology which enables golf facilities to adopt and track the use of sustainable management practices and we are pleased that a number of our affiliates are encouraging member clubs to use OnCourse to achieve this.” Martin Slumbers, Chief Executive of The R&A

"We see multiple benefits in the OnCourse platform. Clubs have reported savings and increased efficiency. The programme also facilitates decision making, helping to unite views within clubs and committees. It is a valuable data source of the future, helping us to spot new opportunities. We can become more transparent, do the right thing and be recognized for it.”Brynjar Eldon Geirsson, Managing Director Golf Union of Iceland

“OnCourse® Sweden dovetails with our initiatives to promote the ‘Societal Benefits of Golf’ and the considerable environmental, turfgrass and social research carried out by STERF. GEO’s reputation and credibility – linked to their standards, certification, accreditations and endorsements - is also highly relevant.”Gunnar Hakansson, Chief Executive of the Swedish Golf Federation

Long Term Value for us?

The ASG’s position on environment

All golf courses are concerned by the question of environmental protection, during the period of planning and construction as well as the general management of the course.

In Switzerland, the courses must correspond to the high environmental expectations. Consequently the golf sport must put more and more consideration into environmental issues.

Golf poses a potential impact to the environment, by using too many chemicals, too much water, too much energy and damaging wildlife habitats and cultural landscape. Perhaps even more so in Switzerland where land use pressures are very high due to limited available land.
