A disorder where bones get porous, brittle and shrink

This condition is when people don’t get enough calcium or rich-food.

What is Osteoporosis

You may think that your bones are dead and brittle. They are alive and are always growing.

The human skeleton has 206 bones that help and support the body. If we strengthen our bones, it will benefit us.

The Skeletal System Supports and Protects

Osteoporosis affects many people today.

It affects over 25 million people.

It mostly happens to women, but it happens during the teenage age(11-14)

How it Affects People Today

They studied the cause of osteoporosis.

They say that Americans do not get enough calcium.

Instead of consuming calcium rich foods, teens preferred drinking soft drinks and junk food.

Calcium rich foods are foods that strengthen bones.

Some calcium rich foods are cheese, milk, ice cream, pudding, and cottage cheese.

Exercising is beneficial, because it helps strengthen bones.

Exercise helps you prevent osteoporosis.

Walking jogging, swimming, cycling, and aerobics are ways to strengthen your bones.

Maintaining a healthy skeletal system is important, because it supports and protects you during your life.

They recommend you to exercise 30-60 minutes every single day.
