The load limits on Turner County roads will be 7 ton per axle, 40 ton maximum, or as posted on all county roads. The 7-ton per axle, 40 ton maximum weight limit is applicable to wagons as

well as motorized vehicles. The maximum vehicle weight will be 80,000 lbs. on roads not posted.

By State Laws, SDCL 32-14-6 and 32-14-7, Load Restrictions may be put on county roads. Time implementation and removal

is dependent on weather and road conditions. PLEASE BE AWARE that county load limits become effective when the signs

are installed and displayed.

The limits shown on load limit signs take precedence over any published information. Overweight permits will not be issued

while weight restrictions are in effect.
