My Culture (Ghana)
subequatorial climate which is warm and humid, with distinct
alternations between rainy summer and dry winters.
- Kumasi (Ghana in West Africa) which is the nation’s second largest city.
- Grew up in Accra till the age of 10- major ethnic groups in Ghana
include the Akan, Ewe, Mole-Dagbane, Guan, and Ga-Adangbe.
- I belong to the Ashanti or Asante tribe which is the major ethnic group in Ghana, a powerful, militaristic and highly disciplined people of West Africa.
Accra used to serve as a center for the slave trade with the Europeans who had built the nearby outposts of James Fort and Ussher Fort. By the 17th century, the Portuguese, followed by the Swedish, Dutch, French, British and Danish, had constructed forts in the town.
