Warhol Style Portraits • Our Warhol Style portraits are inspired in the figure of Andy Warhol (Pennsylvania,

USA 1928-1987), the versatile artist and an icon of the pop art culture movement. Provocative, frivolous, sharp, brilliant, sometimes irritating and always intelligent and bold, Warhol was the very guru of Pop, the Pope - as he self proclaimed in a sarcastic way - of a movement that he took to its logical conclusion being the figurehead and symbol, comprising the last expressive possibilities and techniques available. From his factories, as he liked to name his printing shop, he led the industrial art genesis and showcased the commercial potential of artwork. Over 30 years ago he created some of the most memorable images and objects of pop art: Campbell soup cans, Marilyn Monroe icons, Coke a Cola Cans, Shot guns, Mao portraits and so on. He also portrayed his own image as those of other artists and dignitaries of the time. Andy Warhol’s work is the purest image of man’s outlook in the 50´s and the 60´s…..there dreams and their thoughts. In every work of art or object he created, he used the most artificial and innovative techniques available:

• He often used repetition of the same design.

• His work was completely opposed to the common knowledge, that art should be based on feelings and original ideas. He barely showed pure feelings such us love, hope or freedom. He searched only for desire……… and the need to fulfill his own creative satisfaction. He used flat and bright colors, clean and simple line……..
