What is StrongStart?

StrongStarts are Early Learning Centres where children and families attend together and participate in a variety of fun, creative and challenging activities.

Early Learning Centres are free family drop-in places that are open 5 days a week, usually in the mornings.

Object 1

StrongStart…a place to connect, grow, develop, interact, support and

learn together.A family centred program where children and parents/caregivers attend to experience fun and stimulating activities.

Object 2

In StrongStart families are immersed in activities such as creative art, water play, sand play, play-dough, music/movement and story-time.

Object 3

StrongStart’s philosophy is based on social and emotional regulation. Children have an opportunity to socialize, verbalize and interact with their peers in a safe, appropriate and nurturing manner.

Object 4

StrongStart’s foundation is based on building skills within the family unit. Parents and caregivers also get a chance to practice new skills and transfer this learning to their unique home settings.

Object 5

StrongStarts are located within schools in local neighbourhoods. Residents can attend any StrongStart in their area of residence.

Object 6

StrongStarts are run by facilitators who plan and implement rich and diverse activities for the children and families in the program.

Object 7

StrongStarts are able to utilize community resources for the benefit of their families. They connect families to available developmental supports in the community.

Object 8

StrongStart provides a comfortable and secure environment for children to develop and be the best that they can be. In this setting, they have opportunities to challenge themselves in multiple ways.

StrongStart……a vital partner in our childrens' healthy future.
