▪ In 2011, we started a training of 20 teachers who taught at Cycladic schools. We have endeavored to cover the large gap left by the Ministry in educating teachers in our islands due to the difficulties of traveling and communication.
▪ Acceptance by teachers was enthusiastic and surpassed our expectations.
So
▪ From 2011 until 2017, was created a Community of Practice of teachers of all specialties who lived in the 40 islands of the South Aegean. The aim of the Practice Community was to train teachers to use Web 2.0 tools in teaching lessons. The Community started with 20 teachers in 2011 and gradually in 2017 had 2,000. Teachers of all specialties, of all educational levels
Courses per year
2010-11 – 1 Course, 20 teachers
2011-12 – 2 Courses, 40 teachers
2012-13 – 3 Courses, 120 teachers
2013-14 – 7 Courses, 700 teachers
2014-15 – 7 Courses, 1000 teachers
2015-16 – 17 Courses, 1000 teachers
2016-17 – 9 Courses, 2000 teacher
For the organization this online courses we cooperate with:
• eTwinning National support service • Greek School Network • University of the Aegean, • Technological Institute of Western Greece • Greek Union for the use of ICT in education
Reuse
▪ All the software we used was open source software
▪ We have exploited the already existing technical infrastructure of the Pan-Hellenic School Network and the Ministry of Education in general
▪ We exploited the overpriced teachers
▪ All involved work on a voluntary basis
▪ A community of practice has been created
▪ From the 2017 – 2018 the CoP was incorporated into eTwinning Community

For the school year 2017 – 2018 we had
▪ 4,000 teacher trainnes
▪ 200 e classes with 340 trainers
▪ 5 Seminars lasting 120 hours, from October 2018 to May 2019
For the school year 2018 – 2019 we have
▪ 7,500 teacher trainnes
▪ 340 e classes with 340 trainers
▪ 8 Seminars lasting 120 hours, from October 2018 to May 2019
▪ The largest training activity in Greece today with 850,000 hours of impregnation
and all this is voluntary
New courses 2018 – 2019
▪ Exploitation of mobile devices (Tablet and smartphone) in teaching, where 1792 teachers are enrolled
▪ Educational Robotics at the school, where 882 teachers are enrolled
and we will begin after the holidays in January 2019
Training model: Moodle – BigBlueButton
It is our main model. This training model includes synchronous and asynchronous communication with supported by trainers-graders.
ASYNCHRONOUS PART
Use of Moodle LMS for educational material and asynchronous activities
Video tutorials, which will show the process that must be followed by the trainees
Links to software or services, which trainees will use
Extra material, in pdf format, or presentation or website for further deepening of the subject
Activities, to be implemented by the trainees and will be evaluated by the evaluators – trainers
Model Α: Moodle – BigBlueButton
SYNCHRONOUS PART
Teleconferences with use of the BigBlueButton (BBB) platform
• The teleconferences are not mandatory. Help in getting acquainted and more personal contact with each of the trainees but also the trainers.
• Their purpose is to create the feeling of a group-community and getting feedback from the trainees.
• They are not used for the presentation of a particular teaching object but for debate on the activities of the course

Description of CoP
▪ 3 Teachers in central management group
▪ 17 Coordinators of trainers who each coordinate 20 trainees
▪ 340 trainees for the 340 e classes. Each class have 20 trainers
▪ 20 trainees + helping trainers who have problems. In addition, they answer the resplendent questions in the forums
▪ 7.500 trainers trainers
