Psychodrama Training modules in Adult education
2nd meeting in Katowiche
PaTiE training material exploitation
The project platform
Research on experiential learning The overall aim of PaTiE project is to improve the efficiency of existing training practices and to promote training for adults, through the development of a training
program based on in psychodrama and focusing in actual educational needs.
Under this scope, the survey investigated the status quo regarding the training structures in various EU countries, in order to develop highly innovative modularized training curriculum in experiential learning and psychodrama. The aims of the report was to specify which experiential training techniques are used in the implementation of VET training programmes in consortium countries and it also aim to qualify the actual needs of adults educators in order to apply in their educational seminars
psychodramatic techniques. The collected data was used to provide reliable information to develop a proficient curriculum.
The Experts in adult education and certified psychodramatists in each participating country have been interviewed in order to enrich the existing data for qualifications and skills required for the successful application of psychodrama in adult training programs.
From the reports drafted by the adult educators, it was found that 90% of them use experiential methods in their courses and that often the classical frontal methods are not sufficient for developing efficacious, comprehensive lessons for adults. The most highly valued quality of these methods was that of motivating and involving students,
and promoting independence in learning. Within this context, the psychodramatic techniques, which are valid for improving collaboration among students, and motivating and developing their creativity, seem to be used with considerable benefits for
enhancing the educators' abilities and the teaching method while also helping to overcome the most recurrent problems in classes of adult students.
It was concluded that, the use of psychodramatic techniques appear to be capable of providing a valid answer to the majority of problems indicated by the educators, especially those relating to lack of motivation, narrow-mindedness, lack of self-esteem
and confidence, difficult relations between student and student, and between the class and the educator.
Psychodrama Training modules in
Adult education
The use of psychodrama techniques appears to be
capable of providing a valid answer to the
majority of problems arise through the research
implemented by PATiE project partners in
Greece, Italy, Poland and Spain.
The results of the research were presented in a
meeting held in Florence in 24th of February. At
the meeting specific training modules on the
psychodrama tools used in adult education, were
derived connected to existing problems and
difficulties in training process.
From the reports drafted by the adult educators,
it was found that 90% of them use
experiential methods in their courses. However,
only 33% of educators know about the
applications of psychodrama in education.
The most highly valued quality of experiential
techniques, are that of motivating and involving
students and promoting independence in
learning. Within this context, psychodrama tools
and techniques, which are valid for improving
collaboration among students, and motivating
and developing their creativity, seem to be used
with considerable benefits in teaching process.
Training modules in psychodrama that can help
trainers towards managing effectively major
difficulties and problems in training process will
include:
1. Experiential methods of
psychodrama Theoretical module discuss the
PaTiE training materials exploitation
As a continuation of PaTiE LdV TOI programme the
applicant (Lifelong Learning Department - Region of
Crete) and two core partners of the PaTiE consortium
(Centro Machiavelli and ECTE) developed the PATiVET
bid. Aim of the PaTiE project is to improve the efficiency
and adequacy of existing training practices in the VET
sector and to promote training for educators in
psychodrama. PaTiE project began on October 2013,
and till the May of 2015 the curriculum on Psychodrama
as educational tool in VET that projects aims to develop
will be ready for use. Based on the curriculum
developed under the PaTiE LdV TOI project, partners of
PaTiVET project will select those modules from the
curriculum that matches better with the participants
needs of PaTiVET programme in order to develop a
short international training course on experiential
training method’s specialized for VET trainers that will
take part in the translational placements in Florence. In
this way, PaTiVET programme guarantees the
sustainability of PaTiE programme, and will also support
the evaluation of the selected modules from the PaTiE
curriculum through the evaluation strategy of the
PaTiVET training seminars.
PaTiE 3rd meeing in Wadowice
In Poland at 18-21/06/2014 took place the third
transnational meeting of the PaTiE Project. The meeting
was organized by the Polish partner EST, an Adult
Education Centre in Wadowice and core partner of the
programme. Partners among others discussed about the
programme progress, the working plan, and the future
tasks.
At this point PaTiE programme is in the middle of its
duration, with most of the PaTiE training materials
ready for the pilot testing. In February 2015 will start
the National PaTiE pilot courses, in Greece, Italy, Poland
and Spain, where the PaTiE Curriculum developed by
consortium partners will be tested in real adult classes
basics of psychodrama – Knowledge
2. The power of the group Group
theory/dynamics (psychodrama is mostly about
group) ex: how to motivating group, there is
need of a sort of background - Understanding
3. Sociometric group mapping Application
4. Warm up How to warm a group up - concrete
technique
5. The power of playing psychodrama action
6. Working with symbols In psychodrama many
symbols are used (ex: working with masks)
7. Sharing and processing section sharing the
experience with group/learners
8. Conflict management sharing information
on conflict resolution in adult classes
constituted by VET adult educators.
PaTiE Curriculum on psychodramatic learning techniques was designed based on VET adult educators needs, according the outcomes derived through the PaTiE research implementation. PaTiE Curriculum is the detailed plan of the course with a clear definition of learning outcomes and sequence of activities used to help participants attain them. Each major block of the
curriculum is constituted in modules: Module 1: The experiential method of Psychodrama, Module 2: The power of the group, Module 3: Sociometric Group Mapping, Module 4: Warm up, Module 5: Role playing, Module 6: Working with symbols, Module 7: Conflict Management, Module 8: Sharing.
In the meeting participated all PaTiE partners: KEKAPER (Greece), ECTE (Greece), EST (Poland), Teatre Grodzki (Poland), Centro Machiavelli (Italy), and ALECOP (Spain). Next partners meeting was agreed to took place in Mondragon, Spain on October 2014.
