PARTY ON THE WATER THROW YOUR NEXT GET-TOGETHER ON YOUR PONTOON

Out on the lake with a few friends, work colleagues, or family members is a

great way to enjoy a sunny day. Your pontoon boat has a lot of seating and

plenty of space to move to throw a great party. On the following pages we’ll

go through all the things you need to know to throw a fun and memorable

soiree.

GUEST LIST

Know your audience and exactly how many will be coming. This will help

you decide the amount of food, the types of games, and the style of music

you will play. You want to make sure all your guests will be comfortable on

the water.

When you are

entertaining guests it is

easier to pick a theme – it

will simplify your choices.

Here are a few examples

of pontoon party themes:

• Classic Nautical

• Tropical

• Fiesta

• Pirates

• Casino

• 4th of July

• Mardi Gras

• The Big Game THEME

ENTERTAINMENT

The theme of your party will dictate the type of entertainment you will have

aboard. Whether you will be listening to music or a sports game while you

enjoy the water and sun, make sure to test your speakers and all the

components before the day arrives – there’s nothing worse than getting out

on the lake and the playlist you designed doesn’t play.

CUISINE Essentially, you can bring any type of food you like, but remember some

foods are just easier to have out on the water. Here are a few pointers:

• Bring premade finger foods, appetizers, and treats.

• Cut and marinate all your meats and veggies before boarding.

• Remember plates, utensils, spatula, can opener, corkscrew,

bottle opener, tongs, knives, and a cutting board.

• Keep hot and cold foods separate.

DRINKS Think pre-made. Pitchers of iced tea, margaritas, sangria, and lemonade are

all great choices. If you are bringing soda or beer remember to buy cans, not

glass bottles – it’s safer and your trash bags will weigh considerably less.

All parties will end up

with trash; here are a

few tips to make your

pontoon party easy to

clean up.

• Bring a tote with

hand wipes,

surface wipes,

trash bags, and

small towels.

• Supply reusable

dishes and

silverware.

• Double bag all

your trash and

store them under

a seat.

CLEAN UP

The wonderful breeze, the

warm sun, and the gentle water

will make for a fun day with

your loved ones, but it is

important to remember that

your passengers’ safety is the

most important element.

Things to remember:

• Lifejackets

• First aid kit

• Fire extinguisher

• Adhere to maximum

capacity guidelines

• Only cook while the

boat is docked or

anchored

• Make sure grills are

stable

• Avoid glass
