Jewellery Genuine pieces of jewellery are made to last a lifetime. here are a few tips on how to care for your pieces of PaNDOra jewellery to ensure that they remain beautiful symbols of your unforgettable moments.

Gold and silver Gold and silver are malleable metals and therefore subject to wear and tear. sterling silver in particular will tarnish over time, but the tarnishing process will progress much faster if the silver comes into contact with agents such as perfume, salty air, sulphur, skin creams, hairspray, chlorine and acidic skin ph levels.

the amount of tarnishing (oxidisation) that occurs is dependant on the skin and skincare routine of the wearer. tarnishing is therefore not a manufacturing fault.

Oxidation Please note that oxidation disappears with time. this is not a defect, but a natural result of wear and tear. sweat, chlorine, perfume, medicine secreted through the skin, cleaning agents and silver polish can all speed up the process.

Cleaning your jewellery If you wish to clean your PaNDOra jewellery at home, add a drop of mild

dishwashing detergent to lukewarm water and clean the jewellery with a soft toothbrush.

the toothbrush is an excellent tool for jewellery with patterns, which may otherwise be difficult to clean. If a piece of jewellery is very dirty, leave it in lukewarm water with a drop of dishwashing detergent and let it soak for 10 minutes.

Please observe that this advice does not apply to leather, wood charms or jewellery adorned with freshwater cultured pearls.

Do not soak, rub or wet these items. Only the metal parts of the wood or pearl item can be gently cleaned with a polishing cloth. leather can be treated with a non-perfumed hand cream to prevent bends or folds. You should never expose PaNDOra jewellery toharsh chemicals, or chemi-cals meant for cleaning other jewellery. Jewellery cleaning agents may alter the colour of the jewellery and damage the organic parts such as leather, wood or pearls.

a jewellery polishing cloth may be useful to help freshen up your PaNDOra jewellery and shine a dull surface.

threading problems can occur if dirt builds up around the interior thread of a charm. We always recommend regular cleaning to prevent this problem.

Annual Service Depending on the degree of use, we recommend that your jewellery be inspected at least once a year by a goldsmith.
