Our Edible Cell.BY: Shania McDonald, Ryan Page, Gavin Jache, Brenden

Stinson

A cell really can be tasted.

Biology can be fun once in a while.

By Brenden Stinson

CytoplasmWe used the cake as the cytoplasm because the

cytoplasm is everywhere that the organelles are not and the cake is everywhere the food is

not. It is just a placeholder.

By: Shania McDonald

CytoskeletonWe used the icing because the cytoskeleton holds everything

in place, and the icing was going to hold everything in

place on the cake.

By: Shania McDonald

RibosomesThe sugar represents

ribosomes because ribosomes are kind of like little balls that

give you energy or ATP, and sugar is little and gives you

energy.

By: Shania McDonald

centriolesWe pick a mini resees cups

because they look like it has centrioles.

The help in mitosis.

Gavin jache

Cell membraneWe use this because it is like the way the cell membrane

forms.

It allows items to come in or out

Gavin jache

mitochondrionsWe use hershey kisses because

they are round like a mitochondrions.

They make energy called ATP.

By Gavin Jache

Vesicle“Little pumpkin”

They resemble a “bubble” from above

The vesicles organize the cellular substances

Brenden stinson

VacuoleMounds

Resemble vacuoles

The vacuole manages the cells integrity

Brenden stinson

Golgi ApparatusFruit roll-ups

They resemble the wavy appearance of the golgi body

The golgi apparatus sorts modifies and packages protein

Brenden stinson

NucleusWe chose a bat because it was

what was at hand

The nucleus is the “brain” of the cell

Brenden stinson

The bat

NucleolusWe chose a candy corn,

because it was small looking down on it, like the nucleolus

The nucleolus creates ribosomes

Brenden stinson

The candy corn

Rough Endoplasmic

ReticulumWe used twizzlers because the

resembled one another and we put the sprinkles to show

that it was rough.

Have internal structural skeleton to keep the cell

together

Brenden stinson

Smooth Endoplasmic

ReticulumTwizzler because of resembling shape

Important in the synthesis of lipids and membrane proteins

Brenden stinson

LysosomesWe used purple skittles

because they are round and in cell models the lysosomes are

round.

The lysosomes digest and recycle cell components.

Shania McDonald

Nuclear Membrane

We used the green licorice because it was easy to wrap

around the nucleus and nucleolus.

The nuclear membrane protects the nucleus and

nucleolus.
