identifying why you chose it, what was the focus of the brief and howlong you spent on it.
BRIEF1
Space Publications: A type based investigation of publication designwith a focus on print.
The focus of this brief was to develop my type and layout skills in relation toprint. This is an area I hadnt really developed much before but I felt it was a
necessary skills area to develop for my future practice.
2 WeeksBRIEF2
Doctor Who Exhibition: A content led investigation of visual identitysuitable for exhibition application.
The focus of this brief was to continue to develop my visual identity skills. Ichose the method of delivery as an exhibition as this has greatly differingrequirements to an identity for a small business or product, this allowed me toinvestigate and evaluate
3 WeeksBRIEF3
YCN/Very: A content led investigation of digital application design. My competition brief response was initially going to be a quick turnaround, especially as the live briefs came out late, but after I dropped brief 6 I decidedto choose a more substantial YCN brief. The Very brief was open ondeliverables, so allowed me to investigate design for a digital platform, something I had not looked at in great detail before this module.
2 WeeksBRIEF4
Halloween Product Range: An image led investigation of kids productdesign with a focus on range.
The aim of this brief was to investigate commercial applications of my imagemaking skills. I wanted to use my images to create products and ranges that
would be suitable for a commercial context.
3 WeeksBRIEF5
Tigerprint Black and White surface pattern competition. This brief was started but dropped in favour of brief 6 as I thought it was abetter use of time and skills development. A set of initial patterns weredeveloped & submitted but not applied to a range. The development Designboard for this brief is on the CD.
1 WeekBRIEF6
Bradford International Film Festival Visual IdentityThis brief was started but then dropped for a larger focus on a competition
brief. As the Competition brief was a mandatory requirement I felt it needed alot more time given to develop a considered response. The Visual Identity forthis brief was developed but not placed in context. The development designboard can be found on the CD.
