Department’s overview1.Part & tool design and simulation

They make use of the latest software like 3d Modelling Software from I-deas, Pro-E, Unigraphics and 3-D Analysis Software LS-Dyna.

2.Tool Room

It is equipped with state-of-the-art Tool Room set-up with latest CAD/CAM facilities3D CMM, Wire Cut EDMs and Vertical Machining Centres facilitating SPMs and low cost automation.

3.Press Shop

Plant have Presses ranging from 10T to 1200T, capability to handle sheets from 0.6mm to 12mmand produce an extensive array of stamped & welded assemblies.

4. Welding and assemblyIn this department most of the work of manufacturing is

done as it consist of many CNCs and machining machines.Parts manufactured in other departments are also

assembled here.

In the manufacturing of sprocket following processes are done

Raw material

In the very beginning the raw material company gets is as shown picture,it is called as sprocket Bop. Then many other processes are done to give the shape of sprocket to this sprocket Bop.

BROACHING- It is a machining process that uses a toothed tool, called a broach, to remove material.

Hobbing- It is a machining process for gear cutting, cutting splines, and cutting sprockets on a Hobbing machine, which is a special type of milling machine. The teeth or splines are progressively cut into the workpiece by a series of cuts made by a cutting tool called a hob.

Deburring is simply a finishing method used in industrial settings andmanufacturing environments.Metal is frequently machined using many processes in order to create pieces of specific shape and size, and it may be welded, moulded, cast, trimmed, slit or sheared.

Deburring-

BarrellingAbrasive media, work pieces, compound and water are loaded into barrelsat a certain ratio and are put into motion. Abrasive media and work pieces rub each other caused by the difference in weight, shape, speed and direction of abrasive media and work pieces. The friction generated under such movement results in surface finishing.

DrillingDrilling is a cutting process that uses a drill bit to cut a hole of circular cross-section in solid materials. The drill bit is usually a rotary cutting tool, often multipoint. The bit is pressed against the workpiece and rotated at rates from hundreds to thousands of revolutions.

Chamfering The finishing process, which removes excess material that remains on a metal part after fabrication, is an important step. It ensures that a part falls within specifications, regardless of whether its intended application will be simple or highly sophisticated.

Tapping Tapping is the process of cutting a thread inside a hole so that a cap screw or bolt can be threaded into the hole. Also, it is used to make threads on nuts. Tapping is done with a tool called a "Tap".

Stamping Stamping (also known as pressing) is the process of placing flat sheet metal in either blank or coil form into a press where a tool and die surface forms the metal into a net shape.

Hardening It is a metallurgical and metalworking process used to increase the hardness of a metal. The hardness of a metal is directly proportional to the uniaxial yield stress at the location of the imposed strain. A harder metal will have a higher resistance to plastic deformation than a less hard metal.
