Business and Industry Loan Guarantee

Guarantee up to 80% of a private lender’s loan for a business that will create/retain jobs

Eligible Areas: 50,000 or less Population Typical Loan Guarantee is $1 - 2 million but

range from $500,000 to $10 million Incentive to Banks – secondary market Incentive to Business – a secured loan can

warrant favorable terms and rate

Rural Development awarded the Annin Flag company in Coshocton, OH with a B&I loan of $1.6 million to help them upgrade their facilities and production capacity

Intermediary Relending Program

A loan to a non-profit or public entity Rate of 1%, Term of 30 years Up to $750,000 a year Funds are reloaned to rural businesses

Rural Business Opportunity Grants

Grants to non-profits and public bodies for training, planning and technical assistance for rural economic development in communities of 10,000 population or less

National competition for funding

Rural Business Enterprise Grants

Grants to non-profits and public bodies to develop small and emerging rural business enterprises

State allocation of a little over $1 million

Rural Business Enterprise Grants

Truck Driving Simulator

Rural Development awarded Southern State Community College, Hillsboro, OH with an RBEG for $30,000 to help with its truck driving program

Value Added Agriculture Marketing Grants

Physically segregates an agricultural commodity/product to enhance its value

Helps expand customer base for products, commodities

Result in greater portion of revenues being available to producer
