• CADARN thoughts – There are a number of fruitful experiences that I feel I have gained from partaking in the CADARN project.– Fruitful:– The development of an awareness of what is possible– Developed film making and presentation skills– Developed an awareness of devices including Panopto, Camtasia– Started to think about learning technology into teaching/research– Created a number of useful advertisements videos for the School– Great opportunity for promoting material covered in modules. Perhaps a summary video per seminar/lecture– A group of people aware of shortfalls who can continue on producing similar resources, acting like an in house
production hub– Ability to develop teams with expertise– Assist in the furthering of digital humanities in teaching and learning
• Lessons:
– A different thought process must be utilised while developing the project– The time consuming nature of sorting through copyright– The cost of using some material can be extortionate (£10 a second for some material from ***** Institute)– More visual based projects, with room for own photography and filming maybe a better focus– Once it is been done once, it is an easy project to rerun
