Dear Parents and Families,
We are very excited about having Literature Day on October 31st! To prepare for this fun day, we will be doing a “Character Analysis” project that will be due on Wednesday October 30. Although we will discuss the project in class, parents will need to help their child put the project together at home.
First, students should pick their favorite character from a book. This can be a book they are currently reading or one they have read before. Once they have chosen their character, students will complete the attached outline where they will analyze the character (thoughts, loves, says, etc.) Next, students will build the character out of any material they would like and attach the character to a poster no bigger than _______. On each of the parts of the body, students will paste a description of each item analysis (Please see the attached example). The descriptions should be at least 3 sentences each. Students will have the option to hand write or type the descriptions.
We are hoping that this will help students to not only learn about character analysis, but help them get an idea of a character they would like to dress like for Literature Day.
Feel free to get as creative as you would like! We are going to display these in our classroom for Literature Day!
Please contact us if you have any questions about the project.
All the best,The 4th Grade Team
