Housekeeping.
Please be aware the Tennis Club is all of our responsibilities. We should all endeavour to
keep it tidy and clean. Where necessary please empty bins and take rubbish away. If you
use a cup, wash it up and please put it away. Please do not take glass onto the courts and
take plastic bottles away with you. Thanks
As the Club moves into the winter season it can look back on some huge
changes that have taken place. We have a brand new clubhouse and six wonder-
ful courts in a wonderful location, and we await news on further funding which
will enable the Club to develop further. On the court the teams have done very
well considering many were promoted a year ago. A big thank you to the team
captains who spend many hours gathering a team together. It has been great to
see the younger members of the Club, not only being given chance to prove
their abilities, but forcing themselves forward with their play and results on
court. Well done to everyone!
REMINDER All match subs should be paid into to the treasurer, Sheila and
more importantly any outstanding Membership subscriptions !!!!

Many thanks
Rebecca has enjoyed another successful summer season
playing in some National & Regional tournaments in her
current age group under 16's as well as playing up in some
under 18's & Open Women's events.
She has now managed to reduce her rating down to 3.2
& is currently ranked 5th in Yorkshire in her age group.
Rebecca has also enjoyed playing in our 1st mixed team
who won the Driffield League & our Ladies 1st Team
which successfully maintained their place in Division 1 of
the York League.
Also, Rebecca for the last two seasons has been invited
to play for York Tennis Club in their Yorkshire League
Team.
Despite summer coming to a close, Rebecca will
continue to train over the winter and has to been invited
to County Training sessions & will be competing in the
LTA Winter Tournaments.
Rebecca has also been assisting Matt Ward at some of
the Clubs coaching sessions & is hoping to gain her Level
1 coaching award later this year.
The Club wishes Rebecca well, not only being a credit
to herself and her family, but the Club too! Well done!

The Club held the annual Tournament in August sponsored by EMBARQUE TRAVEL with Finals
Day in early September. Some great tennis was played and enjoyed by all.
The results did not go far from form, but it was great to see the younger players coming through
and challenging the senior players
