Chris’ Corner
As we look at the term stew-
ardship we instantly have
many different ideas rush into
our heads. This is sadly a word
that is seldom used in the
Church today and many consider it taboo.
Any talk about money or raising money is
frowned upon. However I believe just con-
sidering this word to be money focused is
our first mistake. To me this term means
much more, to begin I look at 1 Peter 4:10
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve
one another, as good stewards of God's var-
ied grace” This shows the idea of different
gifts and graces and the way we use them is
how we measure stewardship. I know during
the Christmas season we have difficult deci-
sions on how we spend our money and what
all we should accomplish. There is decorat-
ing, Christmas parities, shopping, and of
course traveling from here to there! I wish
for us to look at how we are stewards of this
incredible season. How do we treat our fam-
ily, friends and strangers in the "most won-
derful time of the year"? I am blessed to see
many of our churches gifts and graces used
on a daily bases, however for us to be the
functioning body of Christ we must each be
good stewards of what God has blessed us
with. May we remember that we should rep-
resent the greatest gift ever given, especially
to those who have yet to receive it!
Merry Christmas!
Rev. Chris Pavlovsky

THE CHURCH WEBSITE IS DOWN!
Our church website is not currently working
due to malware attacks. We are working on
getting a fix in place for the next few months
and plan to launch a new site at the first of the
year. We apologize for any inconvenience. If
you have any questions, please contact the
church office.
“Feed My Sheep”
I would like to thank the members of Dallas First UMC and especially the Outreach committee for support-
ing the Paulding Community Meals and Stop Hunger Now. This Thanksgiving we were able to serve 1,122
meals within the county with 186 deliveries. We also packaged another 10,152 rice based meals with Stop
Hunger Now for delivery to those in need. Stop Hunger Now is a hunger relief agency that deliveries food
and other lifesaving aid to children and families around the word. This is Dallas First's sixth year partnering
with Stop Hunger Now and we have packaged over 60,000 meals. It took over 125 volunteers to complete
those two events and it wouldn’t have been possible without the people of DFUMC.
The stories we hear and the people we meet while serving the meals always reinforce the need. Whether it's
a family living in a motel, those who have been sick and unable to cook for themselves, or the excitement of
children when they see our delivery teams bringing food to their door. Last Christmas we served 979 meals
during our first Community Christmas Meal and this year we are preparing to serve even more.
We will prepare and set-up for the meal on Tuesday, December 22, starting at 6:30 p.m. and then the meal
will be on Wednesday, December 23, from 3 p.m. until about 7 p.m.. Many of you have already signed up
to volunteer, so be looking for a follow-up email or text regarding your assignment. If you can, we are ask-
ing all volunteers to bring a canned food item for donation to Helping Hands. These items will assist them
in feeding those in need beyond the holidays. If you have not yet volunteered, you can still do so by con-
tacting Kara Holt at 678-249-4011 or holt301@gmail.com. We still need delivery teams. If you would like
to help support the meal cost, you can make your check payable to Dallas 1st UMC and write Outreach on
the memo line.
Blessings,
David Holt
