From Bengal Lancer, but a nature enthusiast, explored the sylvan treasure of thePachmarhi Hills 150 years ago.

We wish to follow the same trail, experienced by him with all the natural beauty which he found en-route.
We want all of you to share the excitement and experience the same passage of awesome landscape and rare forest wealth on his way to Pachmarhi.
Though the trail had taken months but we intend you to revisit the trail in three days showing you the very path which finally led to the discovery ofPachmarhi the virgin hill station of central India.

D. O. Witt, Dy.C.F.compiled the flora "Trees shrubs and climbers in Central Provinces ” was camped at Pachmarhi on June 10th 1916.

“………By-and-by, through the vistas of the trees great isolated peaks began to appear, glowing red and fiery in the setting sun against the purple background of a cloud bank. The centre one of three, right ahead of us, was the peak of Mahadeo, deep in the bowels of which lies the shrine of god himself; to the left, like the bastion of some giant's hold, rose the square and abrupt form of Chauradeo ; while to the right, and further off than the others, frowned the sheer scarf ofDhoopgarh, the highest point of these Central Indian highlands………..”

Unfortunately, now this scenic view is blocked by the AEC Buildings and Eucalyptus pl’n .
All three peaks are visible from the nearby hillock, about 150 mt. from the trekking route
Tips for safe and memorable trek
• Use dustbins at camp sites.• keep your eatables in close containers .• Smoking and alcoholic drinks are prohibited .• Don’t enter into the deep waters .• Always remain close to your group .• In case of wildlife sighting , be calm and remain
with group .• Avoid drinking waters from the streams .• Follow the instructions of group leader and route
guides .
