Basic Principles
Single point of command Some one is in charge at each level and each person
reports to only one supervisor. Manageable span of control
For any supervisor is 3 to 7 people, 5 being the optimum. Modular organization
Can expand or contract at any time in response to changing conditions
Common terminology Plain English; no codes; careful of acronyms and
abbreviations
