WAYS TO REDUCE CARBONFOOTPRINT IN OUR SCHOOL

• We are reducing the usage of tubelights andfans thereby reducing the power consumption.

• We are increasing the number of plants andtrees in the school premises.

• We are promoting the usage of steel vessels inthe school canteen.

• Our school students have reduced the usage ofplastic lunch boxes and water bottles.

• Waste segregation : Eachfloor has green(bio-degradable) and blue (non-degradable) bins. It makessegregation easy

• Water: Taps were replacedto push taps . Each push willallow the water to flow onlyfor three seconds . This helpsto reduce wastage

• Electricity: A designatedleader in each class ensure alllights and fans to be switchedoff before leaving the class,this helps to optimize theelectricity use

RAIN WATER HARVESTING

Impact:

• 800 liters of water get filled inthe tanks when it rains

• With the help of groundwaterrecharge

•20% of the rain water gets filledin the bore well

COMPOSTING• Per day 100 kg of foodwaste is deposited fromthe college canteen(including peels ofvegetables and fruits) .

• After 72 hours thisbecomes powder due toheating pad and rotatorin the machine .
