The service also offers ongoing support by phone or email for you, your relatives and carers. If necessary, the nurse can help other people involved in your life, such as work colleagues, to understand your Multiple Sclerosis.

The Multiple Sclerosis Specialist Nurse can see you in a nurse-led clinic or in your own home if you are unable to get to the clinic.

Who is eligible for the service?Any person affected by Multiple Sclerosis who isregistered with a GP within the mid Surrey area iseligible for our service.

The Multiple Sclerosis Nurse works within a multi-disciplinary team that includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, dietitians, psychologists and the social care team.

We work together to ensure that you get the most appropriate care and support based on yourindividual needs.

Who is the Multiple Sclerosis Specialist Nurse?The Multiple Sclerosis Specialist Nurse is anexperienced nurse who specialises in the care ofpeople affected by Multiple Sclerosis. She is partof a multi-disciplinary neuro team.

What does she do?If you have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis,the nurse can provide:

• Support and information about Multiple Sclerosis, available treatments and medications

• Disease modifying drugs

• Links to other services that can support you in managing your Multiple Sclerosis.

The MS Specialist Nurse is hugely experienced and inspires so much confi dence. It’s so reassuring to know that if I have any questionsor concerns, she’s there... She really helps me to keep a positive mental attitude, which can be half thebattle sometimes.
