It doesn't really mean you are hanging off a rope. It means that you are giving up or your are sick of the attitude!

If someone tells you get your head out of the sand…They really mean pay attention

to what is going on, not that you have your head stuck in the sand!!!!

UNDER THE WEATHER

The figurative meaning is that someone is standing under the

weather. The real meaning is that you are sick.

Go Fly a KiteIt really means to tell somebody to get somewhere it does not really mean to fly a kite. For example, somebody is

messing with you, and you tell them “ To Go Fly A Kite” so they leave you

alone.

Eating Out of My HandThe figurative meaning is

that someone eats out of your bare hand, the real meaning is you do exactly what someone tells you to

do whenever they want you to.

Ace up your sleeve

When you are playing cards, you can pull out an Ace which can beat all cards except a joker. Its like having a secret weapon in a game of I declare war. It really means, you have a secret plan.

My Idiom is “Pie In The Sky.”

It doesn’t really mean that pie is floating in the sky, it means you are going for the riches or the best you can do.

The idiom I chose was “Toot Your Own Horn” it doesn’t really mean you are tooting a horn, it means you are showing off or bragging!

doesn’t mean that you are off the hook, it really means that

you are very excited about something. The class was off the hook on Friday, and

they got in trouble all day.

Fair Weather Friend

‘’I said fair weather friend,” It really means someone is only your friend when things are going good. It doesn’t talk about the weather.

When things are going wrong a fair weather friend won’t be there for you.

Take a chill pillIt does not mean really take a chill pill.

It really means calm down!

IdiomsThe Idiom “Out of the frying pan and in to the fire” doesn’t mean that your in the frying pan and your put in the fire.”

It means you just got in trouble and now you got in trouble again.

Bark up the wrong tree doesn’t really mean that you are barking while looking

up at a tree. It means that you are blaming the wrong person for something that they did not

do!!!

IT REALY MEANS THAT YOU ARE LOSING YOUR Temper, not that someone is flying off a handle.

My mom flies off the handle when I talk to much and it annoys her!!!
