GeneralMRR-3DNGisthelatestThales3Dmultiroleradar.Theradarprovideslong-range3Dairandsurfacesurveillance,trackingandself-defence,targetevaluationandweaponallocation,targetclassificationsupport,weaponcontrol,andoffersadvancedECCMfeatures.

MRR-3DNGisin-serviceandoperationalinseveralNaviesandhasbeenusedtoperformsuccessfullysurfacetoairmissilefiringsaswellasgunfirings.

MRR-3DNGisespeciallydesignedtodetectandtracksea-skimmingordivingmissiles.3Dairsurveillanceextendsto180km,andsurfacesurveillancetotheradarhorizon.Incaseofducteffect,specialwaveformsareusedtobenefitfromthiseffectindetectingsurfacetargetsbeyondtheradarhorizon.MRR-3DNGalsodetects,tracksandclassifieshelicoptersoverseaorland,includingpop-upsandhoveringorslowmovingtargets.

Theantennaiselectronicallyscannedinelevationandperforms3Daccuratetrackingtoprovideaccuratetargetdesignation(bearing,elevation,range,speed)upto70°.Forrapiddeploymentofself-defenceweapons,theradardeliverstrackswithashortreactiontime.Then,adedicatedmulti-beampatternisusedtoprovideaccuratetargetdesignationtotheshiportoanactivemissilesystem,minimizingtargetacquisitiontimeforanti-airweaponsystems.Foranti-surfacewarfare,theMRR-3DNGperformssplashspottingmeasurementtosupportgunfiringcontrol.
