Kiara, Kalara, Jalika, Meya, Shanika, Daniel, Dwayne and Kaedyn were the students along with Miss Batten, Brian and three parents who travelled to Sydney to be part of the 2014 School Spectacular. The week involved travelling by bus to Sydney, train
trips through the city and staying at Royal Farwest, Manly. The group travelled on the Ferry everyday, even getting to see the captain’s quarters. Students were involved in rehearsals at Lidcombe from Monday to Thursday, a full dress rehearsal at The Qantas Credit Union Arena on Thursday afternoon and performing in four shows. The students were well behaved and used beautiful manners everywhere they went. People commended on the students, for being in their school hats and their part in The Aboriginal Dance Ensemble. While in Sydney, the students also met The Street Warriors, were interviewed by NITV and toured the Koori Radio station. Let’s hope this tradition of attending School Spectacular
continues in future years at MEPS.
