All the coins have a common side and a national side.

The common side:the 1,2 and 5 eurocents coins represent the position of Europe in the world;10,20 and 50 eurocents coins represent the Europe as an alliance of states and the coins of 1 and 2 euros represent Europe without borders.

The national side is different depending on the the country that emited it.(Even Monaco,San Marino and Vatican have their own coins). All the bills are realised after a common model for the whole eurozone. All the coins are usable in all the countries which are members of the European Union. The first currency that dissapeared was the Deutsche Mark(german currency),in 31 december 2001 and the last ones dissapeared in 2002.In 1997,The European Council of Amsterdam chose the winning models of Luc Luycx from Belgium. The graffician realised the european side of the euro coins.

The national side Each country which is a member of the eurozone has it’s own design on the national part of the coin. The models vary from the presentation of the efigy of the monarch in Belgium to a different drawing for each coin in Italy.Anyways the 12 stars are represented in a way or another on this side too. Altough they are not members of the European

Union:Monaco,San Marino and Vatican have also euro coins with their own national side but these are not ment for being put into circulation, they are mostly used by coin collectioners.

Each state has the right to emit each year a serie of coins with a comemorative character. The coins have the nominal value of 2 euros and they have a circulation power. Each year there can be emited a suplimentary serie of coins in the case of an international event by each country.

Except for the coins in circulation there have been emited in numismatic purposes coins with the value of 0.25,5,8,10,12,20,25,50,100 and 200 euros made of noble metals.
