INTRODUCTION

A MICROGRID is a group of interconnected loads and distributed energy resources within clearly defined electrical boundaries that acts as a single controllable entity with respect to the grid.

If desired a microgrid can connect and disconnect from the grid to enable it to operate in both grid-connected or island-mode.

This analysis mainly includes micro grid operation under: Grid connected mode Islanded mode

Grid Connected Mode:

IMPORTANCE & BENEFITSIt enables modernization

of the grids. It enhances the integration

of distributed and renewable energy resources to meets up with the end user needs.

It provides support and backup for main grid.

Smart control of energy demand and increase power quality.

Reduce emitting green house gaseous(GHG)

WORK DONE SO FAR:THE SIMULINK MODEL OF THE WIND GENERATION BASED SYSTEM:

SIMULATION RESULTS

WORK TO BE COMPLETED…Transient behaviour of the integrated hybrid grid system powered by both wind and photo voltaic generation under normal grid connected mode and islanding condition are to be studied by using PSCAD/EMTDC.

The obtained results will be analyzed under different fault conditions to obtain a solution for challenging issues like harmonic distortions and frequency variations.
